Where Athletes Come to Get Faster…FASTER!

Welcome To ATXspeed

Speed is the difference between seeing the field and being on the field.  Between making the play and missing the play.  Speed is the great equalizer in sports.

As youth sports become more competitive, every second counts.

At ATXspeed, we don’t talk about getting faster…we do the work to get faster! Every workout develops another facet of straight line speed, ballistic power, and the ability to change direction without wasting movement.

Speed is a science, and the ATXspeed Coaching staff have thousands of hours training and refining the “B.A.S.E. Process” to maximize results through the off-season to guarantee a more impactful in-season.

The B.A.S.E. Process

How We Do What We Do…And Why It Works.

Balance

Great Athletes have great spatial awareness…knowing where they are relative to their opponent, their environment, and their objective.  They are efficient with their movement.  That all starts with balance.  We pay special attention to developing rotational core control and active/responsive hips to keep the Athlete upright while eliminating wasted movement and “extra steps.”

Acceleration

Bad weight distribution leads to a bad stance; a bad stance leads into bad sprinting posture.  Bad sprinting posture impacts stride length and frequency.  All of these are “speed thieves,” robbing Athletes of critical milliseconds on the field.  At ATXspeed, we break down EVERY Athlete’s sprint technique and adjust to maximize acceleration and reinforce the most effective habits.  On the field, how you finish has a lot to do with how you start…let’s get you started the right way!

Speed

Athletes run.  Great Athletes run fast.  It’s that simple.  Whether it’s from home plate to first base or the line of scrimmage to the end zone…speed matters.  Even the most dynamic of sports have a “straight line speed” component; every combine or college recruiting camp has one too.  If an Athlete cannot run, he or she cannot play.  ATXspeed Coaches begin our summer B.A.S.E. Camps with multiple sports-specific tests of this straight line speed.  Our Athletes aren’t just going to run countless, mindless sprints.  We have a plan.  We have a process.  Trust that process, stay accountable, and watch those times tick down!

Explosiveness

Get explosive, or get left behind.  The first cut as the route develops…the first step of the crossover on the court…the spikes digging in after the ball jumps off the bat…it’s time to go fast.  Now.  Training ballistic movements calls for special programs and equipment.  ATXspeed has both.  The ability of an Athlete to move at high speed, eliminate wasted steps, and explosively react/change direction across any/all planes of movement is the second half of our equation:

Speed + Explosive Reaction = Dominance.

We're In This Together

Every Athlete will have 1-1 time with ATXspeed Coaches.  We are going to know your name, and you will know ours.  We expect great effort from our Athletes, and we give great effort in return.

Testing
``One cannot improve what one does not measure.`` ATXspeed Coaches measure and record sprint/agility times, as well as vertical/long jump, on Day 1. Every ATXspeed Athlete has their own profile, and we record/measure everything.
Homework
Any Athlete will tell you...what you do in the off-season becomes apparent in-season. Same goes for what you don't do. ATXspeed Athletes have their ``homework,`` including additional stretching/recovery work and rotational core work...these are the little things that we use to build ``accountability muscles.``
Team Sessions
Can ATXspeed can accommodate entire Teams? Absolutely! If you have a Team that would benefit from next-level speed and power training (everyone can!) reach out and we can make that happen. Remember those ``accountability muscles?`` Training with your Team builds those like nothing else...let us show you how!

How to go from Fast to FASTER

“If you always do what you’ve always done, you always get what you’ve always gotten.”  This is a fact.  To that end, ATXspeed isn’t just going to line Athletes up and have them chase one another up and down the field; that kind of training doesn’t make them fast…just sweaty.  Instead, let’s identify areas of opportunity for each Athlete and then use the following tools to maximize their performance:
  • Dynamic Warm-Ups and “Warm Downs”
  • Assisted “Over-Speed” Training
  • Partner-Resisted Agility Drills
  • Rotational Core Strength Development
  • Video-Assisted Stance/Start Adjustment
  • Proven SAQ Curriculum
